He-Man And ThunderCats Crossover Announced

Have you ever wondered if the Sword of Omens is more powerful than the Sword of Power? You may soon get your answer. DC Comics is partnering with Toy Titans for a He-Man/ThunderCats crossover event. The six-issue series from Mattel Head Writer and Masters of the Universe Lead Creative Rob David, Supervising Producer Lloyd Goldfine and artist by Freddie E. Williams II (Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) will mark the first time the two beloved toy and cartoon franchises have crossed paths outside of a child's playroom in the 1980s.

The story begins with ThunderCats villain Mumm-ra searching through alternate dimensions to find a weapon more powerful than Lion-O's Sword of Omens. Mumm-ra eventually finds Eternia and sets his sights on He-Man's Power Sword.

"For everyone out there who took different action figures and teamed them up to take on the world, this one's for you," David said in a statement to CBR

"Writing this crossover event is the thrill of a lifetime, and Rob and I can't wait to get started," Goldfine added. "You don't wait 30 years and not go big!"

"The Power of Grayskull and the Great Eye of Thundera have aligned to make me the luckiest guy on all the earths!" said Williams. "He-Man and ThunderCats were my life when I was in grade school—family and friends knew I loved both cartoons so much. I used to pause episodes and draw from them, since they were so awesome. The He-Man/ThunderCats crossover is the fulfillment of a lifelong goal and my fanboy dream come true! I'm having a blast!"
