Mordecai and Rigby are about to have their final adventure.

Regular Show, the Emmy Award-winning Cartoon Network animated series, is coming to an end.

Cartoon Network announced on Tuesday that the eighth season of Regular Show will be its last.

Regular Show premiered in 2010. Created by JG Quintel, Regular Show follows Mordecai, a blue jay, and Rigby, a raccoon, two lifelong friends now working as groundskeepers at a local park. Mordecai and Rigby work hard at slacking off, which usually leads to surreal misadventures. In 2012, Regular Show won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Short-format Animated Program. Regular Show earned four total nominations in that category during its run, as well as one nomination for Outstanding Animated Program for "The Christmas Special." Cartoon Network aired a made-for-TV Regular Show movie, simply titled Regular Show: The Movie, in 2015.

"From JG's original pitch on post-it notes, through eight successful seasons and more than 250 episodes produced, Regular Show has been one of the most original animated series of this generation creating indelible characters and signature comedy mayhem laced with heart," said Cartoon Network chief content officer Rob Sorcher. "Our sincere thanks to this talented crew and cast for their incredible dedication, and I'm proud that they all agreed to go up in space together for one hilarious final journey."

Quintel is the executive producer of Regular Show and provides the voice of Mordecai. The voice cast also features William Salyers, Sam Marin, Mark Hamill, Roger Craig Smith, Janie Haddad Tompkins, Minty Lewis, and Linda Cardellini.

"Making Regular Show has been so much fun,"Quintel said. "We got to tell all of the stories we wanted to tell, and making the choice to go out exactly how we want to go out. We're so proud and excited for people to see how we're wrapping things up in a big, big way. We're bringing everything full circle."

Regular Show Season 8 premieres Monday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. ET on Cartoon Network. The series will conclude in January 2017.
