The mysteries of Kong: Skull Island are held largely in part by Monarch Sciences, who has sent multiple groups to the island to explore and discover what secrets it hides. As a result, fans can learn a thing or two about the island and the King himself through several covert transmissions.

In a viral marketing campaign for Kong: Skull Island, the studios has started leaking encrypted communications on the Monarch Twitter account. These transmissions are encrypted in a variety of ways, such as the first exampe which used an every third key code that eventually spelled out DESTINATIONACQUIRED. You then could head to Monarch's open hub (discoverskullisland.com) and open several folders containing live footage from the recon team.

The newest one comes in audio form, with the code reading back as "Incoming Monarch Transmission: Sierra, Kilo, Yankee, Delta, Echo, Victor, India, Lima, Sierra." It cuts out right after, but using the first letter of each one reads SKYDEVILS. The second encrypted folder becomes unlocked, revealing footage from one of Monarch's helicopters being literally swatted away by Kong.

You can expect more of these to drop throughout the week, as the full trailer is scheduled to hit in 4 days from now.

As director Jordan Vogt-Roberts described, Kong lives a rather lonely existence and protects his home not necessarily out of pride, but out of boredom (via EW).

"Kong's always been a little bit tragic. You can't tell exactly from the still, but the way that he walks on the island, the way that he goes from place to place, I wanted to communicate something about his headspace and about the way that, in certain ways, he's the protector of this island and then in other ways he's killing time. The way he lumbers, the way that he drags himself from place to place, there's an exhaustion to him. There's obviously a huge power to him, but there's a sadness contained within his animation. The way that he walks and his facial capture fused with this very energetic, young Kong at the same time."

Kong: Skull Island stars Brie Larson (Weaver), Tom Hiddleston (Captain James Conrad), Toby Kebbell (Major Chapman), Tian Jing (San), Samuel L. Jackson (Lieutenant Colonel Packard), John Goodman (Bill Randa), Corey Hawkins, John C. Reilly, and Jason Mitchell (Glenn Mill).

Kong: Skull Island hits theaters on March 10, 2017.
