Just over a week ago, it was reported that the first trailer (though it was labeled, "IMAX in Theatre") for Paramount Pictures' Transformers: The Last Knight was officially classified; however, five days later, it was revealed to be a featurette celebrating the relationship between director Michael Bay and IMAX — though it did include new behind-the-scenes footage from the upcoming film.

So, when will we see the first Transformers: The Last Knight trailer? The answer to that question has come today. The official Transformers social media sites have posted a new video in which Bay reveals that the trailer will roll out next month with Disney's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

"Hi, I'm Michael Bay," the filmmaker begins. "I'm at the IMAX theater right now. I want to tell you, because I've been reading your comments, the teaser is coming December 16 on [Rogue One: A] Star Wars [Story]. Okay. So, look forward to it."

The cast of Transformers: The Last Knight features Mark Wahlberg (Planet of the Apes) as Cade Yeager, Isabela Moner (100 Things To Do Before High School) as Izabella, Josh Duhamel (Life as We Know It) as Lieutenant Colonel William Lennox, John Turturro (The Big Lebowski) as Seymour Simmons, and Tyrese Gibson (Furious 7) as Robert Epps, as well as Jerrod Carmichael (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising), Anthony Hopkins (Thor: The Dark World). The voice cast includes Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime and John Goodman (10 Cloverfield Lane) as Hound.

Michael Bay, who has directed the previous four installments in Transformers live-action film franchise, returns to direct the fifth installment. Transformers: The Last Knight was written by a trio of screenwriters: Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Ken Nolan.

The Paramount and Hasbro partnership is responsible for the worldwide blockbuster success of the Transformers franchise, which has earned $3.8 billion to-date, and whose films, directed by Bay, are amongst the highest grossing movies of all time.
