Dragon Ball is an Android-friendly franchise for the most part, and it seems as if fans want another to make its debut. Androids 17 and 18 are making a comeback in Dragon Ball Super thanks to the Tournament of Power, but that isn’t enough for some. The anime’s most recent episode hinted at what the duo’s fusion would be like, and fans are already imagining what Android 35 would look like.
If you step into the Dragon Ball fandom right now, you will be inundated with fan-art of the hypothetical fusion. The anime first seeded the idea into fans when its most recent episode brought up the fusion during a conversation. After the Omni-Kings fusions were allowed in the Tournament, the universes huddled up and decided if their teams did need the boost.
When it came to Universe 7, Beerus was all for the fusion to start. The God of Destruction nabbed his Kai’s Potara earrings quickly and then wondered aloud who should merge. The Kai was the one to suggest the Androids merge, and Beerus agreed; After all, the twins has inherent chemistry, and their limitless power would only be strengthened if they combined. However, Whis managed to persuade Beerus to hold off on fusions for now, so Android 35 never came to be.
As you can see above, some fans have already taken the liberty of imaging what Android 35 would look like in Dragon Ball Super. Phil Vazquez penned a mock-up for the fusion on Twitter which shows the fusion looking rather menacing. The fusion has 18’s blonde hair but 17’s overall aesthetic. Reddit user /tesseract93 also did a sketch of the fusion, and it seems like fans are all for seeing the character become a reality if they look half as badass as these renderings.
