Justice League has plenty of eyes on it right now, and some select fans got to see the film themselves this week. Reports have surfaced that Warner Bros. held its first test screening for Joss Whedon’s first cut of the film, and Batman News is reporting one character has been snipped from Justice League.

Spoiler: the villain is very bald.

According to Batman News, the site says it “can confirm that the current cut of Justice League does not include Jesse Eisenberg‘s Lex Luthor scenes.” The site, which claims to have spoken with three fans who attended the screening, shared the news on Twitter.

Fans have know that Lex’s piece in Justice League was touch-and-go for awhile. Rumors of the villain’s cut started back in August when Batman On Film reported that an insider source confirmed Lex’s removal.

“He doesn’t have one,” the site said of Eisenberg’s role. “If he did prior to all the changes/reshoots, it was cut.”

Of course, the Justice League cut fans saw at the test screening is not the final one. Whedon has time to add things to the film before its November release, so Lex’s future isn’t total dark. However, it does look rather bleak.

Rumors have persisted that Justice League is undergoing more extensive reshoots than expected. The film returned to the UK for additional shooting this summer, and its leads reassembled for lengthy shoots. Warner Bros. assured fans after Zack Snyder left Justice League that the reshoots wouldn’t deviate from the director’s vision, but fans have become increasingly skeptical of the claim.

For now, fans will have to wait and see how Lex fits into Justice League. Eisenberg was last seen at the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice following his creation of Doomsday, so the iconic villain has been holding a grudge for some time now. If Lex doesn’t get to come out in Justice League, the baddie will have to let his rage simmer a bit longer off screen.

Justice League currently has a 4.19 out of 5 ComicBook.com User Anticipation rating making it the third most anticipated upcoming comic book movie among ComicBook.com readers. Justice League opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
