The Definitive Super Mario Encyclopedia From Dark Horse Is Available to Pre-Order

If you're a huge Super Mario fan, and pretty much everyone at the WWG office is, then there's a really exciting project from Dark Horse and Nintendo that you need to be paying attention to. It's called the Super Mario Encyclopedia, and it's freaking exactly what it sounds like. This is going to be a profusely illustrated, extremely detailed, insider's look at the evolution of the Super Mario series. Whether you're into lore and character designs, or the type of person who likes to know interesting factoids about development and game glitches, there's going to be so much information here for you. The original Super Mario Bros. was released in 1985, and Super Mario 3D World launched for the Wii U in 2013. So we're talking about almost 30 years of history behind the world's most famous video game series and all of its characters, settings, enemies, mechanics, designs, and stories. This is going to be am invaluable tome for collectors, and at 256 pages, it will be a mighty tome indeed.

The only downside to any of this is that the encyclopedia won't be released until October 23. The wait is going to be absolutely brutal, but at least we know it will be worth it. We've seen enough from Dark Horse to know that this is going to be exceptionally bound and put together, and $39.99 is a really attractive price for what we're getting.
