Auditioning for a movie is tough, but there's something to be said about auditioning for Marvel Studios. The company has become a genuine hit-maker thanks to the MCU, but Tom Holland didn't let that phase him when he tried out for Spider-Man.

Don't believe it? Just check out the actor's newly released audition tapes.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is now out on Digital HD, and the release came stuffed with bonus features. One of the extras focuses on how Holland landed the role of Spider-Man, and they contain plenty of the actor's audition reels.

According to the bonus clip, there were 7,500 tapes submitted to Marvel Studios for review. Holland admitted he filmed multiple himself as he made it through round after round of cuts.

"It was a pretty daunting process," Holland said. "I went through a process of just doing self tapes after self tapes after self tapes."

Producer Amy Pascal also chimed in on the hunt. "We met about 200 boys. There were so many of them that were so good," she said before adding, "Tom was different from everyone else."

The audition featurette shows more than Holland's self-shot audition tapes. Spider-Man: Homecoming also shared clips of the actor doing screen tests with both Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans.

"There were all these screen tests, and I got to meet Tom when he was in the final running," Downey Jr. admitted.

For fans, the clip gives them a chance to see some of Captain America: Civil War's evolvement. The screen test Holland took part in with Evans shows the pair going head-to-head, and some of Captain America's dialogue is noticeably different.

"Seriously, kid - where are you from?" Captain America asks before adding, "Maybe it's time you went back to Queens."

Spider-Man: Homecoming will have its digital version go on sale September 26 before the physical edition hits on October 7. You can pre-order the Blu-ray (currently 41% off) and 4K releases here.
