At Tuesday's press event for the Blu-ray release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, one of the film's producers, Jeremy Latcham confirmed that elements of Jim Starlin's 1992 The Infinity War six-issue comic book series and Jonathan Hickman's 2013 Infinity crossover event (six-issues) are being considered for Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 and Part 2.
"I was in an Infinity War meeting with the Russos earlier today and there are really old Starlin stuff, there's really new Hickman stuff, there's all kinds of stuff sitting on this table," Latcham said. "And it's really kind of chaotic, like 'Oh, there's a great issue here. There's a great moment here. Let's talk about all of them. Let's make sure we are looking at everything.' I think that's part of what's fun, it doesn't matter when it was written, in the books, if it's great it's great and we want to find a way to put it into the movie. Part of the job. Part of the fun."
Which elements from Starlin and Hickman's runs would you most like see Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War) bring to life on the big screen?
Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 is slated for release in IMAX theatres on May 4, 2018; Part 2 will open on May 3, 2019.
