During the Warner Bros. Television panel at New York Comic-Con, Gotham executive producer and writer John Stephens responded to a fan’s plead to bring back Jerome (Cameron Monaghan), who was seemingly killed off the show in last week’s episode, by teasing his possible return.

“If you watch the episodes closely, as they go forward this year you’ll start seeing the seeds of the way that story will continue to develop,” Stephens said. “And we probably have not seen the last of that fellow.”

In last Monday’s “Rise of the Villains: The Last Laugh” episode, Theo Galavan (James Frain) murdered Jerome, who was threatening to kill little Bruce Wayne, by stabbing him in the neck. The two villains had been working together, but Galavan chose to double-cross Jerome so that he could look like a hero to the whole city. Thus, giving him more power and influence to carry out his master plan.

The GCPD is under new leadership in an all-new episode of Gotham this Monday at 8/7c on Fox!
