Bringing it back for its 10th anniversary, Executive Producer Mike Jones and Creative Director Bill Roseanne from Marvel Games announced that both titles will be available for PS4 and PC next Tuesday, with an Xbox One release to follow suit next week. You can purchase either game separately or together as a bundle, and you will be able to play the game online with other players via four player co-op. No word on price yet, but they did mention that it wold include most of the DLC that was originally available.

The first Ultimate Alliance was released back in 2006 and was actually the third Marvel game produced by studio Raven Software. They were also responsible for the two incredibly well received X-Men Legends games, which ironed out a following due to their addictive gameplay and transparent love of the characters.

Ultimate Alliance widened the net to include the entire Marvel Universe, but still contained all the fan serviced of the previous games. The story places iconic villain Doctor Doom at the forefront, along with his reformed Masters of Evil, and included a variety of Marvel icons to pick from, including Captain America, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Storm, Wolverine, and Invisible Woman, among others.

A sequel followed in 2009, but with a different studio at the helm. The game was primarily developed by Vicarious Visions and took on one of the most popular stories in Marvel lore, Civil War. This was a straight from the comics adaptation, though some liberties were taken. You indeed though had to pick a side to play the game with, siding either with Captain America or Iron Man. It featured characters like Deadpool, Luke Cage, She-Hulk, Thor, Ms. Marvel, Penance, and more.

While the game sold well at the time, it isn’t regarded as highly as the original game. Still, it will be nice to experience these games all over again, and will introduce them to an all new audience as well. Plus, it will be one of the only ways to actually play as the X-Men in a Marvel product for the foreseeable future, at least if Marvel’s latest trend continues.
