The new trailer for Wonder Woman was released Thursday morning, and everyone is beyond excited. The film is one of the most anticipated in DC’s history, as it is the first film focused on a heroine as opposed to a hero.

The trailer is filled with action, busted bullets, horseback riders, and everything you could ever want in a blockbuster action movie. The trailer even gives us the first tease of the unnamed villain in the film, and she looks terrifying. Take a look:

DC hasn’t officially revealed the identity of the villain just yet, but context clues from this trailer have given us a pretty solid idea as to who it could be. Here’s what we know so far:

First, it’s a woman. That’s a big statement from DC, and a huge step in the right direction. Second, she’s got some issues with her face, and is seen using a mask at times. Third, this chick is all about some chemical warfare.

When you put it all together, the signs clearly point toward one villain in Wonder Woman lore: Doctor Poison.

Princess Maru, aka Doctor Poison, is a longtime nemesis of Wonder Woman. She often wore a mask or hooded costume to hide her face to disguise her gender. These costumes came in handy as she became the leader of a Nazi spy ring during WWII. Her plan to defeat the Allies was to contaminate their water supply, killing them from within. The drug she used to contaminate the water in the comics was called Reverso, and it caused anyone who consumed it do to the opposite of what they were told.

We’re sure the film verison of the character will change slightly from this, as we’ve already seen in her fascination of gasses rather than water supplies.

Either way, the character lines up perfectly to what we saw in the trailer, and all signs point to Maru being the main villain in the film. It looks as though the character is played by the talented actress, Elena Anaya. Again, there is no confirmation of this, but she is definitely in the film, and the images from the trailer look exactly like her.
