Jeremy Irons Addresses Alfred's Role In Justice League

Whether or not you enjoyed Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, it's safe to say you probably enjoyed Jeremy Irons' take on Bruce Waynes butler and caretaker, Alfred Pennyworth.

Irons played the role with a stern heart, and a rich sense of humor, embodying everything fans have come to know as the legendary character.

Due to the praise Irons received, it was no surprise that Zack Snyder wanted to include the character in heavier doses for the upcoming DC team-up tentpole, Justice League.

Comingsoon.net spoke with Irons recently about his role in the upcoming video game adaptation, Assassin's Creed, when the focus of the conversation shifted to his role in the DC Extended Universe.

The interviewer asked the actor about his role as Alfred, and if he was making any changes for the new movie.

No, Alfred is a stickler for staying the same,” Irons said. “He tries to modulate everybody else. In a very gentle, English way he tries to deal with these people who can do all these extraordinary things in a very calm way, a very grounded way. He does not modulate at all. He sometimes lets Bruce Wayne out a bit on the lead, but he’s still attached.”

It's good to know that Irons takes the character of Alfred seriously, but it's even better news that he seems to truly grasp the depth of the butler. While it may seem like a supporting role to some, the actions of Alfred have such a direct impact on Bruce Wayne, as well as the entire Jusitce League.

It looks like Alfred is in reliable hands, and the fans can rest easy.
