It's a good time to b ea fan of the Alien franchise: The Prometheus sequel / Alien prequel film Alien: Covenant is bringing some serious sci-fi/horror back to theaters this summer - and next week will include "Alien Day," with a celebratory milestone of having the original 1979 Alien back in theaters once again.
Buzz for Alien: Covenant has also been strong leading up to the film's premiere, and today we have a new promo spot to share, which takes a slight found-footage approach to introducing the proverbial "calm before the storm," as terraforming expert, Daniels (Katherine Waterston), tells of happy hopes for the Covenant crew, which we know will never come true. SYNOPSIS: Director Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
The cast features Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, and Benjamin Rigby.
