Anime fans know that 2017 has been a big one for anime. Attack on Titan returned for its long-awaited second season while Naruto: Shippuden came to its end. The year ushered in My Hero Academia's hit new season as well as a brand-new arc for Dragon Ball Super. So, it's hard to imagine 2018 can live up.

Luckily for fans, it seems like next year is shaping up to be just as good if not better.

ComicBook has been pacing with Japan's anime announcements for 2018, and we're compiling them in one place. Whether you're into shows like Code Geass or Overlord, you have something to look forward to next year.

After all, Code Geass will make its return to anime with a third season next year. The new season will debut once several compilation films premiere to catch up new fans. Overlord will get its second season next year, but it isn't the only franchise. The Seven Deadly Sins, One Punch Man, and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress will also expected to release their second seasons next year.

If you're already missing My Hero Academia, then you will not have to wait for long. The anime's third season will debut next year alongside Attack on Titan. The latter series is slated to air its third season in 2018. The two series will be joined by Sword Art Online as well since the franchise is prepping its third season as well as a spin-off anime, Gun Gale Online.

So far, there is no definite word on its Fairy Tail will return in 2018, but reports have confirmed the anime will make an anime comeback. The series' next season will be its last, and A-1 Pictures could roll the series out starting in 2018.

Aside from these seasonal release, Japan is still planning to continue many of its popular annual titles. Dragon Ball Super, Black Clover, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, and One Piece will continue well into 2018 with new story lines getting introduced.
