UP NEXT: Naruto: New Boruto Synopsis Confirms Sasuke’s Return
Over on Reddit, a translated profile for Sasuke’s part in the impending ‘Naruto Gaiden’ arc of Boruto is being passed around. The super-short brief gives a rundown of what Sasuke has been up to since he left Konoha following Naruto: Shippuden. However, fans can’t get over one translation blip.
As you can see below, the translation has a grammatical error with its punctuation. Sasuke is accidentally describes as Naruto’s rival and the 7th Hokage thanks to a misplaced comma, and the slip does has got fans chuckling. The memes coming from this boo-boo are enough to make even Shikamaru smirk, but there is some truth behind the mistranslation.
After Sasuke is pardoned of his war crimes, the ninja chooses to leave Konoha following the Fourth Great Ninja War. The Uchiha clansman says he cannot stay in the village after seeing how many threats lie beyond its walls. World peace has become a focus for Sasuke, and he devotes his time to protecting Konoha in honor of his brother Itachi’s secret sacrifice.
By the time ‘Naruto Gaiden’ rolls around, enough time has passed for Naruto to give his rival a quaint nickname. As the Seventh Hokage, Naruto gives the title ‘Shadow Hokage’ to Sasuke as the Uchiha helps protect Konoha from outside its walls. Naruto may protect the village from up-close, but Sasuke does the same from far away and with much less recognition.
Hopefully, fans will get to see a bit of that philosophy in action when Boruto finally brings Sasuke back on the small screen this year.
