Philip Bates is a freelance writer and editor, and co-founder of the Doctor Who Companion website. His books include 100 Objects of Doctor Who, The Lucy Wilson Mysteries: The Three Lucys, and The Black Archive: The Pandorica Opens. His biggest project to date is the 700-page tome, Companions: More Than Sixty Years of Doctor Who Assistants. He previously worked as Security Editor on MakeUseOf.
He’s been a fan of Marvel since the age of 3, and his first games console was the SNES. He’s stayed largely loyal to Nintendo ever since, a brief dalliance with the PS1 notwithstanding. He spends much of his days wishing it were the 1990s again, obsessing over Spyro, The Simpsons, and comic books.
