Burt Ward upset over Robin killed

If there is one real life person who is associated with Robin the Boy Wonder more than anyone else, then it’s got to be Burt Ward, who played Robin in the classic sixties Batman TV series. While Chris O’Donnell did take a turn as Robin on the big screen, it’s really Burt Ward that fans recall with fondness. So what does the TV Robin think about Robin getting killed off in Batman Inc. #8? Well, it doesn’t appear if Burt Ward is very happy about the situation. Here is what Burt Ward had to say to TMZ. Burt Ward said, “Holy self-inflicted wound! Not good for corporate profits!” Ward continued, “It’s a terrible choice to kill off Robin. Why bite the hand that feeds you? … Robin should only die in people’s imaginations! Or in a state of primal ecstasy!”Ward also added, “Every youngster realizes that he or she is too young to drive and they are not big like Batman. So, they all yearn to be Robin who gets to RIDE WITH BATMAN AND FIGHT WITH BATMAN!”At least, Burt Ward might can take solace in the fact that it wasn’t the Dick Grayson version of Robin that was killed off, which is who he played in the TV series. In fact, we’re pretty sure that there will be a new Robin back by Batman’s side very soon, but we’re also betting that the new Robin won’t be a boy wonder.
