Following up on Geoff Johns’s epic Green Lantern run, Robert Venditti and the rest of the Green Lantern Family’s creative teams have quite a task ahead of them. One big choice, of course, is whether to carry on using elements introduced during Johns’s mythology-rich run or to try for a clean slate and give themselves more breathing room.It looks from comments made in a new interview as though Venditti is going to try splitting the difference a bit.”We’re starting with a new jumping-on point, but the series will be picking up various threads from Geoff’s run, specifically in regard to the aftermath of the Rise of the Third Army and Wrath of the First Lantern storylines,” Venditti explained to IGN. “The Green Lantern Corps has had its ranks decimated, and their reputation as a trustworthy police force for the universe has been severely undermined by the former Guardians’ various schemes to bring order at the expense of everything else. Unfortunately, things are only going to get worse for Hal and the gang.”Expect more of these interviews, as IGN has labeled June “Green Lantern Month.”Of course, DC Comics has labeled it Superman Month…!You can check out a preview of the issue below.
