Early Wednesday morning, the design for Alpha 5 for the upcoming Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers movie was revealed on IGN’s Snapchat.

This is our first look at the friendly robot, who aids the Power Rangers, even if it is with bumbling fashion. It was announced earlier this year that SNL alumni Bill Hader will voice the robot, alongside Bryan Cranston who will play Zordon (who has yet to be revealed but given the fact that Rita was finally shown in her full glory, it’s only a matter of time now).

As was the same case with Rita, this is a far deviation in design and almost looks organic. Alpha here looks to have a similar texture to the Megazord, at least from what we can tell going on from just images of the toy. It’s a far cry from the simplistic design, but definitely gives him a more alien appearance this time around.

One can only guess with the designs of Rita and Alpha how much Zordon’s and even Goldar’s looks will deviate from the original design. You have to admit, they’re taking some bold risks with these aesthetics and it’s only a couple of more months before fans can see them in action.

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers hits theaters March 17, 2017.
