Mobile Suit Gundam has always been the golden standard for Japanese robots and anime, but Bandai has finally taken that idea quite literally.

Gundam, the massive robot that headlined the venerable anime series, has been realized as a solid gold figure from toy company (and Mobile Suit Gundam owners) Bandai and jewelers Ginza Tanaka. Made out of 1,000 grams of solid gold, this Gundam may not save the world, but it will make you the envy of every collector out there.
But it may also make you broke. Running at $160,000 (or 20 million Yen), this statue isn’t for the faint of heart (or wallet). But, for a much more affordable option, you can see the statue at “The Art of Gundam” exhibit in Tokyo. A full view of the figure is in the gallery below.
What do you think, readers? Would you drop $160,000 on this Gundam figure? Let us know in the comments.
