According to Cruise, filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie has written a “very entertaining and compelling story” for the sixth installment in the popular action-spy franchise, and it will, of course, include plenty of “big stunts” that the superstar actor loves to perform.

He concluded his message by revealing that MI6 will begin filming this fall.

After Rogue Nation grossed $682M at the worldwide box office, Paramount and Skydance immediately began planning a follow-up. McQuarrie, who wrote and directed Rogue Nation, was brought back to pen Mission: Impossible 6‘s script and to direct. Rogue Nation breakout star, Rebecca Ferguson, will return for the next installment as well, making her the first female lead to return for a second outing with the franchise. Even Jeremy Renner (Captain America: Civil War) has hinted at a possible return.
