Spider-Man is headed into his next big-screen Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with what looks like a new start to his life after his identity was erased in the last film. This could also mean that it might be time for Peter Parker to get a new love interest. With MJ possibly moving out of the picture, there is a chance for another Spider-Man girlfriend to show up. In the last decade, since the Marvel Comics One More Day storyline erased Peter and Mary Jane Watson’s marriage, there is one person who has proven to be the best love interest Spider-Man ever had, and it is the one the MCU should bring in for Brand New Day.

In Amazing Spider-Man #11, the issue revealed that the real Spider-Man has been off-planet for a long time and is stranded in space. On Earth, Norman Osborn has been portraying Spider-Man, and Ben Reilly has replaced Peter Parker. No one has realized the truth but two people. It wasn’t Mary Jane or Aunt May. Only Ben Reilly and Black Cat knew the truth, and it proves that Felicia Hardy is the only person who really knows Spider-Man for who he is.
Black Cat Has Proven In Comics To Be Spider-Man’s Real End Game

Ever since Mephisto erased Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson’s marriage in One More Day, Peter has had several new love interests. However, fans have rejected almost all of them, from Lain Tang and Carlie Cooper to Shay Marken. However, there was one old girlfriend he hooked back up with for a short time, and that was Black Cat. She is truly his best love interest, and might even be better than Mary Jane because she accepts Peter for who he is, and he is the only person who inspires her to be a better person. This has been proven more than once in the comics.
As she told Spider-Man (who she didn’t realize was actually Norman Osborn) in the last issue of Amazing Spider-Man, she is trying to be better for him. During King in Black, she proved that the one thing that hurts her more than anything is lying to Spider-Man, which she had to do thanks to the mission she found herself involved with. She even put her life on the line in the last few years when she saved a hospitalized Peter Parker from The Hood. She even forced Mary Jane to help her, and it was clear it meant more to Felcia than it did to MJ.
If this proves anything, it is that the Black Cat is who Spider-Man should be with. Yes, Marvel Comics has conditioned readers to believe Mary Jane is the one and only for Spider-Man, but the storylines and actions of both women prove otherwise. Peter and MJ have had many ups and downs, but in the end, it was always Peter and Mary Jane. Black Cat loves Spider-Man for who he is, both as Peter Parker and as Spider-Man himself.
In Amazing Spider-Man #11, Ben Reilly finally approached Spider-Man to find out who was under the mask, knowing that it wasn’t Peter Parker. At the same time, Norman Osborn knew that Ben wasn’t Peter, which led to a battle. What was shocking was when Black Cat admitted, in the end, that she knew it wasn’t “our Spider-Man” and that she knew Ben Reilly wasn’t the real Peter Parker. The fact that Felicia knew the difference between Peter and Ben, while Mary Jane and even Aunt May didn’t, proves that she has a connection with him that no other woman has. Black Cat, not Mary Jane Watson, is Spider-Man’s real endgame.
Black Cat Is A Better Choice Than Mary Jane For Spider-Man’s Next MCU Girlfriend

When Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters, there are strong rumors that the movie might involve a gang war thanks to the addition of Tombstone to the lineup of villains. Black Cat has always been involved with the seedier side of New York City, and this could be a perfect chance to introduce her to the movie world after teasing her in Amazing Spider-Man 2. It could also provide Marvel with an opportunity to deliver the perfect replacement for MJ as Spider-Man’s love interest.
Mary Jane already got her storyline in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies, so that story has been told. Gwen Stacy got her chance to shine in the Amazing Spider-Man films, and her death was pulled straight from the comics. MJ was a new character for the MCU movies. However, it is time to bring Spider-Man’s greatest love interest to the big screen. It’s time for Black Cat and Spider-Man to finally hook up in the MCU, and Marvel Comics has already shown why she is the perfect option for the Wall Crawler.
