Tonight’s premiere of Powerless gave us the live-action debuts of two DC characters – Crimson Fox and Jack O’Lantern. While the pair were actually at odds in the show, they are actually team members of the Global Guardians in the comics.

The group is an organization whose members hail from across the country, and essentially served as a precursor to the Justice League International.

With several Global Guardians members already appearing on Powerless, which of their teammates could also make their way onto the show? We suggest a few possibilities.

Which Global Guardians members would you like to see on Powerless? Let us know in the comments.

Doctor Mist

Regarded, alongside Jack O’Lantern, to be one of the Global Guardians founding members, Doctor Mist would be an awesome addition to the world of Powerless.

The ancient African sorcerer, who originated from the pages of Super Friends #12, was granted his powers of spellcasting and immortality through an interaction with the Pillar of Life. He later went on to help form the Global Guardians in both pre and post-Crisis continuity.

He most recently reappeared in the New 52, after Steve Trevor sent the Justice League Dark on a mission to rescue Mist from a South American cult. It was later revealed that Mist was a double agent for the cult.

This moral ambiguity, combined with his awesome powers, would make him a cool addition to Powerless, whether as a hero or a villain.ย

Fire

There are already rumors of Beatriz da Costa/Fire appearing in Powerless, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

The Brazillian superhero’sย addition to Earth-P would certainly be welcome, and her powers – the ability to emit green fire – would be interesting to see come to life.ย

Fire – sometimes known as Green Fury or Green Flame – became a Global Guardian after helping Superman locate a series of ancient artifacts. She was established as a model and showgirl in Brazil, who moonlighted as a member of the Brazillian intelligence agency SNI. She was given her powers through a pyroplasmic explosion. She later went on to serve as a member of both the Justice League International and the Super Buddies.ย

With this interesting backstory, and equally as cool superpowers, seeing Fire come to Powerless would certainly be a delight.

Ice

Cold-related abilities are a pretty common feature of the DC Comics universe, and have only grown in popularity with Captain Cold and Killer Frostย appearing in the Arrowverse slate of shows.

It would be interesting to see Tora Olafsdotter/Ice fulfill a similar sort of role on Powerless. In the comics, her powers go beyond generating ice and snow, as she is even able to form living creatures out of ice.ย

The princess of a tribe of magical Norseman, Ice is most known for her relationship with the afformentioned Fire. The pair are frequent teammates and friends, and even joined Justice League International together.

There have actually been two versions of Ice across DC’s continuity, the second being Sigrid Nansen/Icemaiden, who went on to join the Justice League in the wake of Ice’s death. Icemaiden is one of the few openly bisexual heroes in the DC universe, a feature that could easily carry over to Ice’s appearance on Powerless.

Olympian

Described as a “hefty Greek punk”, Olympian would certainly be a character unique enough to appear on Powerless.

The characters gets superstrength and several other powers from the Golden Fleece, a piece of ancient Greek mythology.

A second version of him was rebooted in the pages of Wonder Woman in 2009, and was later confirmed to be gay by his creator, Gail Simone.

Aside from his appearances in the Global Guardians, he has appeared alongside Wonder Woman, Superman, and most recently Wonder Girl.

This connection to some of the most popular DC characters would make him a worthy appearance on Powerless, essentially functioning as a narrative stand-in for characters the show can only mention in passing.

Tasmanian Devil

Okay, this choice is much more out there, but he still would be fun to see.

Hugh Dawkins is a metahuman with the power to turn into, as his name suggests, a large Tasmanian Devil. Aside from the Global Guardians, he went on to become a member of the Ultramarine Corps and the Justice League.

It’s unsure if Powerless would actually bring him onto the show, or how exactly his special effects would work on the show’s budget, but at this point, we’re not ruling him out as a possibility. If anything, his addition on the lighthearted comedy would be a humorous one (and would provide the show with a flurry of Teen Wolfย jokes).
