That would be from the writer’s room, which includes writers Caitlin Parrish and Derek Simon. The series enjoys an 81.09 on ComicBook.com’s composite score rankings, and a large part of why is the stellar writing. Smith took a second to celebrate their work on Facebook, posting a behind the scenes photo on the Supergirl set with the caption “Every ep of @supergirlcw begins with a spectacular script – and the episode I’m nominally directing this month was written by these fine folks from the @supergirlwriters, @amgfitlife & @professorllanas! They’re sitting in a room they wrote! What was once their words has been made manifest in wood, steel & styrofoam!”

This will be Smith’s fourth effort as part of the CW DC collective, and his second on Supergirl. His other two were episodes of The Flash, though Smith has expressed interest in writing for Arrow as well.

You can view the official description for the next episode, “Homecoming” below. Smith’s episode is untitled and currently has no release date.

When Jeremiah Danvers (guest star Dean Cain) is rescued from Cadmus, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Kara (Melissa Benoist) are thrilled to have their father back.

The Danvers arrange a family dinner to celebrate but things go awry when a suspicious Mon-El (Chris Wood) starts to question Jeremiah about his sudden return.

Larry Teng directed the episode written by Caitlin Parrish & Derek Simon.

Distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, SUPERGIRL is executive produced by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash), Ali Adler (The New Normal), Andrew Kreisberg (The Flash, Arrow) and Sarah Schechter (Blindspot, The Mysteries of Laura). Supergirl is based on the characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and appearing in DC Comics, by special arrangement with the Jerry Siegel Family.

“Homecoming” episode of Supergirl airs Monday, February 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
