The latest trailer for Justice League debuted at Comic Con International in San Diego last weekend, and fans are by and large more hyped than ever for DC’s first big superhero mega-team.

Seemingly taking place in the immediate aftermath of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Justice League assembles to take on a threat clearly emanating from the Fourth World — a conflict that impacts Atlantis, Themyscira, and beyond.
And while we love a good cliffhanger as much as the next website (and, hey, it’s given us plenty to speculate about in the run-up to the next footage drop), we figured most people got excited about some kinda different stuff than just speculating whether that last strange visitor to the Batcave was Superman, Lois Lane, or a Green Lantern.
There’s plenty to look at — and a lot of great moments in nearly four minutes of footage from November’s most anticipated movie.
(Well, this and Thor: Ragnarok. We aren’t going to get in the middle of that whole argument, though.)
So, let’s run it down…
BOOM TUBES
There had been some speculation that The Flash used a Boom Tube to pay a visit to the Batcave in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it looks like we’ve got a real look at New Genesis and Apokolips’s favorite mode of transport in this trailer.
The dark grid seen on the sides of the tube even feels like Kirby dots! How great is that?
Paired with the Mother Box and the subsequent first appearance of Steppenwolf, who apparently attacks Themyscira first, the Boom Tube declares, loud and clear, that Jack Kirby’s greatest creations are well and truly here on the big screen.
If that isn’t exciting, we don’t know what is.
Also: Steppenwolf looked pretty badass, no?
CYBORG PLUGS IN
It’s easy to find it charming when Vic Stone talks back to Alfred, prompting Batman’s loyal aide to be confused and surprised.
Another cool element of that? Well, the way he hooks into the Bat-tech by going all R2-D2 on the sucker.
So far, perhaps becuase he’s such a VFX-intensive character, Cyborg has been revealed slowly over the course of the teasers — first a look, then a look at his powers in action via sonic blasts and some kind of flight suit — then this time around, we seem to be getting the full package.
The fact that we get a good look at Cyborg and Aquaman’s powers at play is a pretty god indicator that Zack Snyder and company are doing their best to make sure the less-widely-known characters are represented.
MISTER CURRY’S WILD RIDE
Every time Aquaman does anything in these trailers, it’s awesome.
So it should be no surprise that his big moment in the Comic-Con trailer was pretty epic.
As tired as we are of the faceless hordes of anonymous baddies that seem to exist in literally every superhero movie, it looks like we’re going to have quite a lot of fun watching the team — especially Aquaman — take out the Parademons in cool and creative ways.
UNITE THE LEAGUE
Just like when it happened at Comic Con a couple of years ago, it’s hard to argue that it isn’t awesome to see the team come together for the first time — and while Batman and Superman are missing, we do see a “team lineup” moment in this trailer.
Interestingly, it appears to be happening in Metropolis — near the crash site where Doomsday was “born” in Batman v Superman. What that tells us?
Well, it’s hard to say — although in the dialogue they mention that “The Kryptonian” is gone. Could the Scout Ship be a beacon to draw in the forces of the Fourth World the same way it was for Zod in Man of Steel?
THAT’S RUDE
In virtually every other-media adaptation in recent memory, we’ve had some variation on the “Where did Batman go?” trope.
That’s taken to the next level here, as The Flash is left in the dust of the whole rest of the League as they leave while Flash and Commissioner Gordon talk.
There’s a bit of comedy from The Flash as a result, and from all of the trailers so far, it looks like The Flash is going to be the source of most of that.
