Arrowverse Crossover “Brain Trust” Comes Together

Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim has shared a writers’ room photo of what he identifies as the “Arrowverse Crossover 2017 brain trust,” indicating that work has begun in earnest on the annual event.

The photo, embedded below, features Guggenheim and his Arrow producing partner Wendy Mericle along with Legends of Tomorrow‘s Phil Klemmer, Andrew Kreisberg (who is primarily associated with Supergirl these days but serves as an executive producer on all four of the shows, along with Greg Berlanti, who is not present), The Flash‘s Todd Helbing, and Supergirl showrunners Jessica Quieller and Robert Rovner.

Last year, the crossover adapted the fan-favorite ’80s DC event Invasion!, and centered on a race of aliens attacking Earth. Supergirl crossed over from her own Earth to join Green Arrow, The Flash, and the Legends in repelling the invaders.

“I think the idea this year, from what I understand is, last year they said four-night crossover but in a lot of ways, Supergirl was just kind of a lead in to The Flash, so I think this year they really want to get everyone involved,” Arrow star Stephen Amell said back in July. “It’s not going to be a four-night, well I guess four-night, but Legends and Flash are on the same night. I think they want to get everyone involved in every show.”

Showrunners have said that they already have a solid idea for what story the crossover will tell, although it is not yet clear whether it will be another adaptation of a specific comics story or something different.

Supergirl will premiere on October 9th at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, followed by The Flash in the same timeslot on October 10th. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will follow The Flash this season, airing at 9 p.m. on Tuesdays. Arrow has moved to 9 p.m. on Thursdays.

The as-yet-untitled Arrowverse crossover will take place on November 27th and 28th, with Arrow moving for one week to Monday nights at 9 p.m.
