Arrow Will Explore Olicity's Break-Up Via Flashbacks

Fans who have been waiting to find out exactly what happened to break up the "Olicity" romance will not have much longer to hang on.

Without directly confirming that the explanations would come in the season's upcoming twentieth episode, executive producer Marc Guggenheim has given fans all the information they need to draw that conclusion.

"The flashbacks are to a different time period, as we occasionally do. They take place between Seasons 4 and 5," executive producer Marc Guggenheim told TVLine of that episode.

Heroic Hollywood noticed that he had previously teased some backstory about the couple's breakup would be kicked off by the next episode, 519, titled "Dangerous Liaisons."

"They never really had a full-on discussion or exploration of why that breakup happened," Guggenheim had told TVLine in a different interview. "Felicity just sort of reached her breaking point and walked out the door… This is definitely an examination of the state of their breakup. It comes out of the events of 519 ['Dangerous Liaisons'] and, quite frankly, all the other episodes that led up to it. Something happens in 519 that really tees up this conversation."

While some fans had wondered why there wasn't any explanation for the breakup of a relationship that had been developed for years and had at one point been an engagement, others simply rolled with the story development at the start of season 6, since the Olicity relationship had been so tumultous in the second half of last season.

Either way, some details are apparently coming...soon!
