Did iZombie's Vivian Kill Wally and Anna To Earn Trust From Liv, Major and Clive?

During a visit to the set of iZombie shortly before the season began, series regular Malcolm Goodwin revealed that the death of a family at the end of the season premiere would play out throughout the course of the season.

"But once he realizes that someone, a family that was close to him, that they were zombies, and that there's a real threat of this human vs zombie war percolating, he has to pick a side," explained Goodwin. "And so throughout the entire season, he's trying to figure out who killed that family, Wally and his mom, Anna."

In tonight's episode, fans learned the nature of Clive's relationship to Wally and his mother -- that after arresting Wally's father for abusing his then-wife, Clive stepped in to make sure the family (who lived in his building) were safe and ultimately became close with both Wally and his mom.

Could something more have happened? Nobody knows, in part because Wally's dad came home from jail and uprooted the family abruptly. Clive says in "Zombie Knows Best" that the family simply vanished until last week, when he met them at Fillmore Graves.

Observant viewers might have noticed that last week, when Clive and Wally were excitedly reunited and Clive gave CEO Vivian Stoll his business card to get him in touch with Anna, Stoll was very interested in the exchange.

The fact that Clive -- and Liv, and Major -- were clearly more sympathetic to Fillmore Graves's cause following the death of Wally and Anna gave us some pause as a result. Could Vivian have killed them herself (or had them killed by FG employees)?

If that's not how it went down, then it's at minimum a fairly convenient series of events for Stoll, who has said herself that she and Fillmore are trying to put off "Discovery Day," the day when humanity at large learns about zombies, as long as possible.

The fact that Clive is a police officer, and a human, and he knows makes him a unique threat in some ways. Fostering loyalty to Fillmore Graves is a commonsense tactic -- although the way she talked about the employees and their families as an extension of her own means that Vivian is a very cold, dangerous person if in fact she killed two of her "family" to keep the secret.

Such a coincidence is absolutely a possibility, so it's possible this is nothing...but Vivian herself told the group "We think of everything." So how much room is there for coincidence with someone that prepared?
