After a very brief cameo in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Arthur Curry is slated to appear in Justice League and before too long, he'll be getting his own solo film as a part of the DC Extended Universe.

Now, thanks to director James Wan, we know that Aquaman has begun filming under the working title 'Ahab.' Originally reported to start filming at Village Road Studios in Queensland, Australia, Wan took to Twitter to share a behind-the-scenes image.

"Months of intensive prep has led to this," the caption with the Twitter post said. "Here we go."

Wan then included two hashtags: #DayOne and #Ahab. Of note, the image appears to have been taken on a set piece resembling a submarine.

Wan joins the superhero genre after spending the majority of time director horror flicks, including Insidious and The Conjuring, in addition to their respective sequels. Wan also directed 2015's Furious 7.

Aquaman was first announced in 2014, along with the rest of Warner Bros. DC Extended Universe film slate. Aquaman will become the sixth movie in the DCEU, following Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Justice League.

Game of Thrones breakout Jason Momoa will star as Arthur Curry, the half-human heir to the throne of the underwater realm of Atlantis. Amber Heard will play Aquaman's Atlantean love, Mera. Patrick Wilson will play Aquaman's brother, Prince Orm, also known as the supervillain Ocean Master. Nicole Kidman will play Aquaman's mother, Queen Atlanna, and Temuera Morrison will play Aquaman's father. Dolph Lundgren will play King Nereus of the rival kingdom of Xebel. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play Aquaman's archenemy, Black Manta.
