Amell recently teased some information on the villain(s) we’ll see in Arrow season 6, and how that new threat will compare to the arrival of Prometheus in season 5.

Check out what the actor had to say, below:

The New Threat(s)…

Arrow Season 6 Villains

Speaking to CBRย during San Diego Comic-Con 2017, Amellย stated thatย Arrowย won’t be taking the ‘bigger and badder’ approach when it comes to the season 6 antagonist(s). According to the actor, Prometheus simply isn’t the type of foe you can just one-up:ย

You don’t follow [him] up with one villain. Are you a fan of 24? [Arrow’s villain is] not an actor from that show, although Paul Blackthorne being the main villain would just be tremendous on a number of levels. It’s more about the way that they introduced them on 24.”ย

There are a couple of conspicuous things to take away from that quote:ย

  1. If you’re curious about theย 24ย reference: That show routinely dangled one villain in front of viewers, before revealing a second (sometimes third) villain who wasย reallyย pulling the strings. Sometimes (often) one or more of these villains were people that Jack Bauer was close to.ย
  2. The mention that Prometheus won’t be followed by “one villain” further suggests that we’ll see multiple villains in season 6. That’s not unusual forย Arrowย to start a season with a villain and then reveal another (see season 5); but theย 24ย referenceย suggests that something will be different with the formula, this time around.ย

Arrow will return for its sixth season on The CW on Oct. 12, 2017, with the season premiere episode titled “Fallout.” The premiere will mark a move from its traditional Wednesday time slot to Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
