Wonder Woman will be hitting theaters soon, but the DC icon has been inspiring countless fans and Cosplayers for many years now. That includes the New 52 era, an era brought beautifully to life by Callie Cosplay.

Callie teamed up with David Love Photography and Makeup/Effects artist Elia Lizcano for a New 52 Wonder Woman inspired photoshoot. The results are fantastic, showing the character’s glamorous side in one photo while showing the brutality of combat (something Wonder Woman relishes) in the others. Battle scars aplenty are featured here, and the costume looks like it’s seen some combat as well.

The effects are stunning, including that shattered glass photo that is easily one of the coolest Cosplay photos period. Here is what Callie told GeekxGirls about the shoot.

“So…Wonder Woman’s my favorite female superhero of all time, and this is my first attempt at actually doing her some justice. The costume was fun creating and took me about 2 or 3 hours to do. Oh Worbla, how my love/hate relationship with it is growing more and more for each character it challenges me with. David had been talking about doing something different for this classic DC heroine, so the idea of a “battle worn Amazonian princess” was born. We combined our efforts with makeup and special effects artist Elia Lizcano and started the process of creating this set. Makeup took around 3 hours, and then the shooting began. The three of us had a blast playing with fans, golden lasso rope, lighting effects, and behind the scenes stuff.”

Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action-adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powersโ€ฆand her true destiny.
