The Interwebs loves a good mashup video, and few get as deep into the practice as superhero movie and TV show fans. With some time, a video editor, and a precise eye for timing, a dedicated fan can transform footage of their favorite comic book TV shows and films into epic fantasy trailers.

…Or, with enough imagination and some comedic chops, a fan can create something as dementedly wonderful as this Suicide Squad and Fifty Shades of Grey mashup, “Fifty Shades of Joker.”
Made by Nerd Hero, the mashup is pretty straight forward: it collects footage of Joker and Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad (plus a few extra bits), and puts it to the cadence of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie trailer. And it works pretty well; would’ve worked even better if we had more of the Joker and Harley footage that director David Ayer shot for the film. Scenes of Joker slapping Harley around or obsessing over finding her would fit right in with the portrait of Christian Grey’s creep behavior.
Those Joker (and/or Harley) deleted scenes from Suicide Squad are becoming a hotter commodity by the day! Not only do fans want to see them, but future mashups of DC Comic’s most twisted couple require them. Require is a strong word: more like, it’d be a fun novelty to have them.
In the meantime: what did you think of “Fifity Shades of Joker”? If you want to see more like this, head over to Nerd Hero’s YouTube page.
