One of the biggest headlines to come out of San Diego Comic-Con 2017 was that DC Films’ Flash movie will be officially title Flashpoint.

Upon hearing that title, DC Comics and movie fans have been buzzing about what the Flashpoint movie will do to the DC Extended Universe we know (so far). One of the biggest pieces of the DCEU fans want to see developed for Flashpoint is no doubt the casting of The Walking Dead stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) and Lauren Cohan (Maggie), as Thomas and Martha Wayne (Batman’s parents) in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Fall of The House of Wayne
In the DC Comics “Flashpoint” storyline, one of the biggest changes to the timelineย that Barry Allen causes by running back in time and saving his mother, is the complete alteration of Batman’s origin. In the Flashpointย timeline, it is Bruce Wayne (not Thomas and Martha) who is gunned down by a cowardly criminal in an alley; that traumatic event rocks his parents, causing a major divergence:
Dr. Thomas Wayne (Morgan) became the brutal, gun-toting, enforcer of justice known as The Batman; Martha Wayne, on the other hand, was broken by her grief, becoming the insane serial killer known as The Joker.ย
In the comic book storyline, the reveal of Flashpointย Joker’s connection to Batman was something of an understated side story – but it could be a major storyline for the Flashpointย movie. Check out artwork of Jeffreyย Dean Morgan as Flashpointย Batman and Lauren Cohan as Flaspointย Joker, below:ย
