Her military training wasn’t as intensive as her Wonder Woman workouts!

Mandatory military service is part of being Israeli, and since Gal Gadot was born and raise in Israel, she enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces, serving as a combat trainer, after completing high school. In the past, she has credited that military background for helping her land a role in the Fast & Furious franchise.
But even that training couldn’t have prepared her the six months she spent transfoming her lean model figure into a superhero physique worthy of DC’s most powerful superheroine, as well as learning horseback riding, sword training, and martial arts.
“I was training six months prior to the shoots,” Gadot told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest, “and six hours a day I did two hours gym work, two hours of fight choreography, and one and half hours-2 hours horseback riding, which is super hard.”
After explaining her new appreciation for equestrian athletes, she was asked if being in the Israeli army helped you with her training. She said her Wonder Woman training was “more intensive.”
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Joining Gal Gadot in the international cast are Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui. Patty Jenkins directs the film from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, story by Zack Snyder and Allan Heinberg, based on characters from DC Entertainment. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston.
The film is produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Richard Suckle, with Rebecca Roven, Stephen Jones, Wesley Coller and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers. Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with RatPac-Dune Entertainment, an Atlas Entertainment/Cruel and Unusual production, Wonder Woman.
The film will be released on June 2, 2017.
