It seems the Amazons are wearing some skimpier costumes for Justice League, and some don't' see that as a bad thing.
A comparison image showing the Amazons in Wonder Woman next to the ones seen in Justice League has started making the rounds and has caused some pushback. In Wonder Woman the armor covered most of their torso, but photos from Justice League show some with less armor around their midsection.
For Amazon actress Brook Ence, she prefers the new version. She revealed to USA Today that showing more skin "didn't bother me at all", and not every Amazon even wears a two-piece. Moreover, she doesn't think of it as "sexier". "The girls on set, we never thought of (the new costumes) as a sexy version," Ence said. "It felt a little more glamorous, if anything, because we had bigger, beautiful hair, which I loved."
The costume actually gave Ence to show off her muscular physique, something she doesn't get to do all the time. "I'm an athlete first, right? (Usually,) I can't wear anything without someone commenting about my (muscular) body," Ence said. "So for me, it was actually really cool to be able to show it and not immediately feel masculine, but still very feminine."
Ence shared a photo in costume and was quite proud of it. "Who is getting really excited to see the new DC movie? 😏 I'm going to see it on Monday..... I let you know if you will get to see more than just my erectors and hamstrings this time 😂😜 #justiceleague #penthiselea #itmakesence #redcarpet #amazonwoman #crossfit #training," Ence said.
The costume comparison picked up steam when @Rosgakori shared a picture of the two side by side, which revealed an easy to spot difference.
"In case you wonder," Rosgakori said: "Here's a picture of how the Amazons looked in Wonder Woman...next to pic how they look in Justice League. First designed by Lindy Hemming, second by Michael Wilkinson. Some steps backwards, methinks."
Fans can judge the costumes for themselves when Justice League lands in theaters on November 17.
