Could the ’90s Flash suit show up on CW’s The Flash? Maybe!

The Flash fans don’t just love John Wesley Shipp because he’s a great actor (which he is); they love him because he was also the star of the ’90s Flash TV series, and a fan icon.
It’s long been a fan-favorite wish to get the ’90s Flash costume to appear on The CW show, and during The Flash panel at Dragon Con, Shipp told fans how they could get the classic TV costume to make a reappearance:
JWS says if you want to see him in the old 1990 Flash costume again: “If you wanna see it, tweet it.” #TheFlash panel #DragonCon

So, what we need next is some kind of official hashtag that Flash fans can rally behind on Twitter. #Flash90 or something like that…
The ’90s Flash series has already delivered one fun carryover to the new series. Star Wars icon Mark Hamill brought his ’90s version of The Trickster to the new Flash series. Shipp has also suited up in a newer Flash costume to play Jay Garrick, the Flash from an alternate Earth. That’s all to say: bringing in the ’90s costume wouldn’t be a stretch, and it would be fun. So get tweeting.
The Flash Season Four will see Team Flash trying to protect Central City in The Flash’s absence while also looking for a way to rescue Barry Allen from The Speed Force. We’ll also get a new mastermind villain in the form of The Thinker.
The Flash Season Four premieres on Tuesday, October 10th at 8/7c. For more on the Arrowverse shows and their new seasons, read our “Super Season 2017” Breakdown.
