This year, attendees got a sneak peek at the six-episode second season, carrying the subtitle “Trial by Fire.” In it, The Flash (voiced by Grant Gustin) and Firestorm (voiced by Franz Drameh and Victor Garber) battle Weather Wizard, who is on some coast, causing a tsunami and a tornado (waterspout?). The Flash easily unwinds the tornado, but Firestorm’s powers are extinguished by a massive, watery-fist. Luckily, Vixen (voiced by Megalyn Echikunwoke) comes flying in and goes right after Weather Wizard. It’s an electrifying encounter.

Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe’s parents were killed by local greed, corruption, and wanton violence. But the orphaned Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her. Inheriting her family’s Tantu Totem, Mari can access the powers of animals — anything from the super-strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights valiantly to protect the world from the threats like those that claimed her family.

Based on characters from DC Comics, VIXEN is produced by Blue Ribbon Content and Warner Bros. Animation, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kriesberg.

Vixen returns with all-new episodes this fall, only on CW Seed.
