Wonder Woman Crosses $700 Million Worldwide

Wonder Woman continues to soar to new heights at the box office.

Wonder Woman has now officially crossed $700 million at the worldwide box office. That’s a combined total of the movie’s domestic box office ($346 million, the highest of any DC Extended Universe Movie) and the totals from all international markets ($361 million) for a grand total of $707 million.

Wonder Woman has already passed the worldwide box office total of Man of Steel ($668 million), but Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice remains the highest-grossing film in the shared universe worldwide ($873.3 million) and internationally ($543.2). Suicide Squad is still the second highest performer outside of the United States ($745.6 million worldwide, $420.5 international). Wonder Woman has received nearly universal critical approval. The film broke the records for biggest domestic opening for a female director and the biggest opening for a female-led comic book film with $103.3 million. It is currently the fifth highest-grossing film of 2017 worldwide and is closing in on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales for fourth place.

Gal Gadot made her debut as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016. She will return as Wonder Woman alongside the DC Extended Universe’s other heroes in Justice League in November 2017.

Wonder Woman was directed by Patty Jenkins from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg, based on a story by Heinberg, Zack Snyder, and Jason Fuchs. Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, and Elena Anaya.
