A new competitive League of Legends game mode is being tested that pits teams against each other is currently being tested on the PBE.

Earlier in the week, a post on League's PBE boards announced that some players might see some interesting assets in the testing realm that included brackets, icons, and other UI elements. The assets are part of the competitive tournament game mode that's currently only being tested in Vietnam with more information to come closer to a worldwide release, but one League player by the name of molenzwiebel dug into the game's code to locate the assets in question that seem to be tied to a game mode tentatively called "Clash."

Within the League community over on Reddit, molenzwiebel shared a gallery of the assets that can be seen here. Creating a new tab in the client titled "Competitive" that's next to the other three categories, the tab takes players to an area that details steps for creating a roster to assemble a team and compete for prizes. Through some sort of ticket system, players seem to be able to invest tickets into the tournament they're set to participate in in order to ramp up the prize potential. More tickets mean more prize boxes, and more teams competing seems to increase the quality of the prizes.

Special icons can also be chosen to represent your team that include League entities ranging from jungle camps to Bard's Chimes with some icons apparently locked until players have earned them. The buy-in system involving the tickets again showed up during the roster management screen where the tickets were seen next to the area where players would declare their requested in-game role, but the way that the tickets work is still unclear. They could be earned through winning games as normal, or they may very well require RP to purchase tickets to prevent tons of teams entering into tournaments repeatedly and keep the area strictly competitive as it appears to be.

The actual game mode hasn't been revealed just yet, so much of the game mode's innerworkings are currently left to speculation. With the new feature currently being tested in Vietnam and the assets included but not enabled in the PBE, more information about the tournament game mode is likely to come soon as testing continues.
