Capcom has been on a roll lately with releasing video sneak peeks into their open-world RPG Monster Hunter World. There's a lot to be excited about, but one thing you didn't count on was the adorable little palico companions you can customise!

The latest string of videos gives short but sweet glimpses into the game, included the adorable little palicoes, as well as more exploration into the Coral Highlands and the creatures players will encounter while there. There's a lot to glean from the recent videos, including just how helpful these feline companions are! Take a look at the videos below, or skip down to learn more about the upcoming beta period and how to partake.

Now for the beta period. The testing period will begin on December 9th at 9 AM PST all the way until December 12th, ending at 9 AM PST. That gives players three days to explore as much as they can during the PlayStation 4 exclusive testing period.

Capcom has hinted that an extension is possible, but just to be on the safe side, keep the above times in mind. In order to get in on the beta action, players will also need to have a PlayStation Plus account. The specific purpose of this beta test is to put some stress on the servers while double checking global matchmaking, so online services are of course required for that. Stemming from that, the beta will be all online only - so you will need to have a stable internet connection in order to participate.

Create your character, customise your appearance, scoop up your own personal palico and get adventuring. The full character creation won't be available for the beta, per say, but it will be completely unlocked when the full game launches. The only other downside to the beta is that it won't save, so if you grind hard to get as much game time in as possible - when the game launches, you're staring over no matter what!

Monster Hunter World launches January 26th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC launch slated for later in 2018.
