Top 6 Destiny 2 Exotic Weapons To Get Your Hands On
Destiny 2 is off to a fantastic start with only a few short weeks since its release on Xbox One [...]
The Rat King
The Rat King sidearm is fantastic because it can stack up damage up to six times. Paired with its magazine of 15, and the RPM of 300; this gun is amazing when it comes to joining up with fireteams to take down the enemy. The reload speed is another perk to this particular weapon, with a decent handling rating and positive stability. The good news though, is while reloading this gun - the player is granted temporary invisibility. The Rat King is one weapon that was designed extremely well, especially for the gun type.
Graviton Lance
Though personally I'm not a huge pulse rifle fan, the Graviton Lance is one that is too good to pass up. With perfect stability, long range, and a decent handling; it's one of the earliest exotics encountered but it's also one that suits multiple player types at once. One, two shots down in quick succession but that third one is where the beauty of this weapon comes into play. The third shot fired off has a passive perk called the Blackhole which does about what you'd expect something with that name to do: it rips a hole in reality itself. Though this does negatively impact stability, it's a strong perk that helps Guardians mid-fight.
The Fitted Stock also helps with recoil, giving the player more control over aim and the overall handling of the weapon. This does sacrifice speed a little bit, but nothing that is too extreme. Pair that perfect control with Cosmology - which makes enemies explode on impact - this is a pulse rifle that players should definitely look out for.
Coldheart
The Coldheart trace rifle is a newly introduced weapon type that is great for DPS and is fantastic for players with patience and the afforded strategic freedom in a fight. Because of the low impact and lower handling, this is NOT something recommended for intense, high voracity PvP or PvE. However, this gun is the perfect swap out when taking down a boss and players have time to line up that perfect shot. With the Longest Winter perk, the longer a player has to aim up, the higher the damage done. Another good thing about this particular weapon is that it is customizable. The handling, stability, and magazine size can all be altered ... and that 1000 RPM is nothing to laugh at.
One important thing to note is that despite reports of players seeing this gun as a random drop, Bungie says it's a pre-order only item. Without concrete proof that players are finding this in-game with no prior purchase, it is a safe bet to get that "pre-order" in while you still can, which is technically until December 5th.
Borealis
Good news and bad news. The good news is that the Borealis is by far my favourite sniper rifle in-game. The bad news? It's a PlayStation 4 exclusive (though will be making its way to other platforms eventually). With utter respect to both Xbox One and PC players, this gun still needed to be included because it's a top-class sniper rifle and perfect for those players that take to high ground easily with laser sharp focus.
What makes this sniper rifle exceptional is its versatility: the ease in which it can alter between Arc, Solar, and Void is incredibly useful in battle and powerful when raiding. Impressive impact, high stability and handling, and a reload speed that self-loads when breaking an enemy's shield; the Borealis is one impressive gun and the perfect weapon for every Guardian.
The Prospector
What better way to round off the list than with a grenade launcher?! The Prospector is an exotic grenade machine that just absolutely shreds anything in its path. This weapon also lets players shoot up to 8 grenades at once, all exploding at the Guardians whim. If you are interested in primarily stalking the Crucible grounds, this is the perfect grenade launcher to do that while providing massive amounts of damage to enemies encountered.
These are our picks for favourite exotic weapons in the latest Bungie FPS. Destiny 2 is out now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players, with a PC release slated for October 24th.
