Destiny 2's PS4 Pre-load Date Revealed

If you're looking forward to picking up Destiny 2 in September and you plan on playing it on a PlayStation 4, a pre-load date has been revealed that will allow players to get their game ready a bit earlier.

The supposed Sept. 3 pre-load date for the upcoming game can be seen on the PlayStation 4 by navigating to Destiny 2's game page where players will find that a new option has been added that mentions pre-loading the title a couple of days before the September release.

While pre-loading the game doesn't mean that you'll be able to get your hands on some Destiny gameplay days before other players do, you will definitely be ready to try it out right when the game is released. Pre-loading the content will allow players to go ahead and download their purchased copy of the game so that you don't have to worry about many last-second downloads and updates that players will be clamoring to receive when the game is released.

At this time, there's no word as to when Xbox One players can expect to have the same pre-loading opportunities that PlayStation 4 players are receiving. That doesn't mean that it's not going to happen for Microsoft's console as pre-loading really isn't an extremely impactful feature since everyone will get the game when it comes out anyways, but Sony does have a bit of luck with receiving some privileges when it comes to Destiny 2.

Not too long ago, it was confirmed in a tweet from Destiny 2 director Luke Smith that those players on the Xbox One, Xbox One X, and PC platforms will be receiving the content exclusive to the PlayStation 4 sometime in 2018, quite a bit after Sony players can get their hands on it. Probably not a good time for that information to come out, especially when some players are accusing Bungie of trying to hold back the Xbox One X to play nice with PlayStation.

For now, there's likely to be more news coming in the future from Bungie and Microsoft about the game's pre-load date. Destiny 2 will be released on Sept. 6 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and will come to PC on Oct. 24.
