The Legacy of Kain series is a beloved franchise that unfortunately dropped off since the release of Legacy of Kain: Defiance back in 2003. With older games making surprising comebacks, it’s no surprise that one simple tweet from the team behind the series sent Legacy fans into a whirlwind of speculation and hopeful attention.

The above tweet depicts a photo of Raziel from Soul Reaver reading, “I am Raziel, first-born of His lieutenants. I stood with Kain and my brethren at the dawn of the empire.” And for those that may be skeptical of the excitement, this isn’t the first hint dropped by the developers showcasing an interest in a revival of sorts. Just earlier this month, Crystal Dynamics posted another nod to the infamous series that definitely raised a few eyebrows:

And yet another Tweet that was a submission from the series as a part of October’s #Inktober event encouraging artists to dust off their drawing pads and get those creative juices flowing:
“Raziel. You are worthy.”

For those unware of the series, the franchise first began with Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain back in 1996. The official description states:
“Revenge: You desire vengeance. You lust for blood. You are Kain. Your enemies killed you in the ultimate act of treachery. But through the blckest of sorcery, you have returned – as a vampire. For sustenance, you must feast upon the blood of the living. For revenge, you will exact the darkest of fates upon your murderers.”
Could we be seeing a Kain revival? Only time will tell, but keep dropping those teasers Crystal – we’d love to this speculation see some fruition!
