Posting the final results of the project to Reddit to show off the final version to some more members of the Nintendo Switch community, Redditor BostianALX detailed the process that was taken to create the new Joy-Cons. This was the users first attempt at such a project, let alone taking apart a gaming console or accessory, and knowing that it was someone’s first attempt makes the results that much more impressive. No special, top-of-the-line products even had to be used for the project either. According to the user, everything that was applied to the Joy-Cons to create the new Pokemon-themed controllers could be found at a nearby Wal-Mart.

Within the post where the Joy-Con designer revealed the custom controllers, they also provided some helpful tips for anyone who looks to follow in the creation of such DIY projects while also referencing some of the other guides that they consulted themselves before starting the customizations. Those tips and a brief guide to the process can all be found through the initial post on Reddit.

Included in the gallery here are a couple of photos that show the final versions of the controllers as the creator spray painted them and they neared completion. To see the full step-by-step process with pictures and tools included, you can check out the full gallery that the user uploaded to show the steps to creating a similar product.

With the final Poke Ball controllers in hand, BostianALX commented that all they had to do now was wait on the Pokemon RPG that’s coming to the Switch, though it’ll likely be a bit longer before it gets here since recent news indicates that it might not be here in 2018 after all.
