Geoff Keighley has done an outstanding job with his The Game Awards show over the past few years, making it the primary place for not only good awards and live performances, but also surprise reveals by a number of companies, getting us amped for the gaming year that lie ahead.

And it doesn't look like that'll be stopping anytime soon. Keighley has revealed on his Twitter account that the show will be making its return with The Game Awards 2017, set to take place on Thursday, December 7th at 8:30 PM EDT. The show will once again be hosted at the Microsoft Theater at 777 Chick Hearn Court in Los Angeles, with the doors opening an hour before showtime.

Tickets for the event are already on sale, going between $40 and $60, depending on seating. Those of you that like a front row view of what's happening with the action better hop on these now, as they're likely to go quick. If you're not in the L.A. area though, don't worry – the show will once again be live streamed, so you can watch all the action from home.

The Microsoft Theater Twitter account noted, "Celebrate the best video games of 2017, plus get a sneak preview of what's next!" Of course, no games have been announced yet – it's wayyyyyy too soon, not to mention that we're in the midst of E3 week and all.

Last year's show brought a number of surprises, including some new footage from Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding that introduced Guillermo del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen's characters, as well as new trailers for Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy (which is out now), Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition (which is out now) and so many others. Who knows what this year's event will bring to the table?

We'll certainly keep you notified of any news regarding the Game Awards show in the months ahead. For now, let's enjoy E3 week and all the killer stuff that's yet to be revealed in the days ahead. It's going to be one crazy gaming year, based on what we've seen over the past 48 hours alone.
