Xbox Has The “Biggest Exclusives” Says Microsoft, Despite Much Evidence To The Contrary

There's been a lot of online chatter about Microsoft's lack of exclusive games in 2017, particularly following the unfortunate delay of Crackdown 3 into 2018. Oh, sure, Microsoft's got a few indies like Cuphead coming, but Xbox One's exclusive lineup for the rest of the year is basically Forza Motorsport 7 and, well, that's about it. A rather sad state of affairs considering Microsoft is launching the Xbox One X this year.
Well, apparently, Microsoft is choosing to stay positive in the face of cold, hard reality. During Microsoft's recent Gamescom livestream, Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg boasted the Xbox One actually has a "non-stop" stream of the "biggest exclusives" coming for fans. No, really:
"People pick Xbox because we have the biggest franchises, the biggest exclusives, whether you are a fan of Halo, or Gears of War, or Forza. This Holiday, personally, I'm really excited -- Xbox One will be the only console where you will be able to play Forza 7, Cuphead, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, which we are super excited about. Also timed with the Xbox One X launch we have Super Lucky's Tale coming, that's exclusive. But it doesn't stop there, because into the Spring, we have Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, and Crackdown 3. So, we're basically non-stop hitting our fans with more and more exclusive titles, so there will be tons of great games to play."
Listen, I don't expect Greenberg to dump on Microsoft's lineup, but there's a lot of fudging going on here. He mentions Halo and Gears of War, despite no new games in those series having been announced, and brings up PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, even though it's unclear if it will be a long-term exclusive. Oh, and talking about how great it is that Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, and Crackdown 3 are coming out in 2018 is a bit disingenuous, as all those games were supposed to come out this year.
Greenberg also brought up that a lot of games will have exclusive enhanced features on Xbox One X, which is probably what he should have been focusing on the first place. That's actually something worth bragging about.
The Xbox One X hits store shelves on November 7 at a price of $499. You can check out all WWG's Xbox coverage, right here.
