Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will bring a few new members to the team, including Gamora’s step-sister Nebula.
As you might recall, Nebula was on the side of her quite intimidating step-father Thanos in the original Guardians of the Galaxy, but in Vol. 2 she’ll be joining Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and new recruit Mantis in their space-faring journey.

Since she’ll be much more of a focal point this time around, we’ll get to see more of the dysfunctional relationship between the two, and discover more about Thanos as a result. Actress Zoe Saldana spoke about this to IGN.
“You’ll begin to get a glimpse of how terrible life must have been like to grow up with a crazy stepfather through Nebula,” said Saldana in reference to cosmic conqueror Thanos, who raised both Nebula and Gamora. “Nebula is still in that teen-y, f*****g hateful s**t. She’s just resentful and bitter.”
Saldana continued, “Gamora, everything she does is trying to gain redemption for what she’d done before. That’s where you’re going to find her and then, obviously, their relationship is very volatile.”
While they still aren’t on the best of terms, they do agree in regards to their opinion of Thanos.
“We’re starting somewhere very crazy but appropriate given where we had ended things off in the first installment. So Thanos is definitely spoken about – not highly,” she added with a laugh.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to hit theatres on May 5th, 2017.
