Spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #2 follow.

For fans who aren’t caught up on Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows, it is the ongoing follow-up series to the Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows miniseries that tied into Marvel’s Secret Wars event, written by Gerry Conway and illustrated by Ryan Stegman.

Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows is set in a world where Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson’s marriage was never dissolved in the events of “One More Day.” In fact, the two have a daughter, Annie, and the entire family is now in the superhero business.

The Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows miniseries saw Spider-Man battling Regent, a tyrannical supervillain with technology that allowed him to access the superpowers of other powered individuals. Having defeated all of the other heroes in the realm, Spider-Man was left to fight Regent on his own.

Spider-Man was able to defeat Regent, but only with the help of his family. Annie was already developing her own spider-powers, but Spider-Man had to reverse engineer Regent’s technology to share his power, and his responsibility, with Mary Jane. Mary Jane and Annie even got their own superhero costumes.

How exactly Spider-Man and Mary Jane divide their responsibilities is still something the couple is working out, with Peter mostly wanting to keep his family safe but Mary Jane eager to share Peter’s burden.

In Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #2, the entire Spider-Man family is drawn into a fight with Mole Man and his Moloids. Annie is captured and the ground literally falls out from underneath Spider-Man and Mary Jane. When Mary Jane wakes, she finds herself at the foot of Mole Man’s throne. After a brief back and forth, Mole Man wants to know what Mary Jane is. Mary Jane’s response is:

Mary Jane Watson-Parker is now Spinneret to Peter Parker’s Spider-Man. For who those aren’t familiar with spider biology, a spinneret is an organ which produces the webbing used by spiders. Spinneret certainly fits the theme and avoids stepping on the toes any of the many Spider-Womans.
