The latest Spider-Man reboot sees the character debuting in the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe where he’ll be facing a cadre of classic villains.

After making his debut in last year’s super-powered throw down Captain America: Civil War, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are collaborating to bring the character’s first solo adventure to theaters. Tom Holland’s portrayal of the character will be squaring off against Michael Keaton as the Vulture, who himself has the support of some other longtime Spidey foes.
Bokeem Woodbine portrays Herman Schultz AKA Shocker, the yellow-and-maroon goon who blasts energy beams from a pair of gauntlets. The character has only made sparse appearances in the trailers thus far, so it appears as if he’ll play second fiddle to the Vulture.
Some action figures have provided a couple of glimpses of Shocker as he’ll look in the film, which seems to forego a supervillain-esque costume for a more contemporary appearance. But a new listing for a Hasbro action figure on the Toys R Us UK website gives him an MCU-style villain look.
It should go without saying that toys tend to take a lot of liberties with films to make them more appealing to younger children. Adding a lot of bright colors and shiny parts to a character who otherwise wears street clothes might be necessary.

But it could be possible that Shocker does take on an appearance closer to his comic book counterpart toward the end of the film, with bolstered shock gauntlets necessitating more insulation on his body.
We aren’t counting on the character looking quite like this in the movie, but we wouldn’t be (pardon the pun) shocked to see if he does.
Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7.
